Construction site fire risk assessments

HSG168 "Fire Safety in Construction" published by the Health and Safety Executive, requires a site-specific fire risk assessment to be undertaken on all construction sites.

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM) and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 also requires the risk of fire to be assessed.

Blackburn Associates are able to complete an onsite fire risk assessment for your site that will fulfil these requirements by considering the fire risks, the control measures and showing an overall risk rating for the site.

For larger buildings the internal layout is considered and recommendations made for construction workers means of escape including routes of exit, priority fire compartmentation walls and location of fire points.

The risk assessment is specific to your site and will be developed in consultation with the site manager or project manager. Your construction phase plan or construction management plan will be reviewed and incorporated as appropriate.
